The Kennedy Middle School PTA funds grants for the Kennedy community. Application proposals may come from an individual or a group of Kennedy staff members. Proposals may be for projects, activities, books, equipment, or anything that enhances the academic or social-emotional development of the students at Kennedy. While weight is given to proposals that offer school-wide access to students, staff members are also encouraged to submit proposals that will benefit their individual classrooms or grade level.
The application form is here.
Who may submit a grant application proposal?
Any staff member at Kennedy is eligible to apply for a grant by submitting this form.
When I can submit an application proposal?
Applications are accepted any time during the school year.
How much money can I apply for?
There is no upper limit to grant sizes, though the usual grant amount is in the hundreds of dollars. Larger amounts are also considered but there is an expectation of greater benefits to the students.
When would I find out about the decision on my proposal?
The PTA board meets once a month – typically the second Monday of the month – to consider the grant applications. You will be notified within a week of the board meeting of our decision.
When would I get the funds if my proposal is accepted?
After your grant proposal is approved, we ask that you make the purchases and submit the receipts for reimbursement.
What can I include in a grant proposal for professional development?
The grant will include the costs for event registration. Applications for travel, lodging, or meals will be considered on a case-by-case basis subject to availablity of funds.
